To Spread Joy Throughout the World

As I am about to begin Interior Design classes at a local college, I have been applying for scholarships. One scholarship asked that I write about one problem I felt was present in the world and how I was helping to solve it. I wrote about the problem of families dissolving and thought that I would like to share more of my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Below, is an excerpt from Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf's article about temples. I was struck that I could help, in one way, to bring more of righteousness to the earth by continuing to hold a temple recommend and attending the temple often.

Temples are an unyielding witness that goodness will prevail. President George Q. Cannon (1827–1901), First Counselor in the First Presidency, once said, “Every foundation stone that is laid for a Temple, and every Temple completed … lessens the power of Satan on the earth, and increases the power of God and Godliness.”1

As the landscape of the world continues to become beautified with these sacred buildings consecrated to the Lord, it is my prayer that we will do our part in bringing heaven closer to earth by being worthy to hold a temple recommend and using it. As we do so, righteousness will surely increase not only in our lives and homes but in our communities and throughout the world.

  1. Way to go with the interior design classes. It's something you've always wanted to do and now you're doing it! That's awesome! Hope you get the scholarship too.
