profound happiness

I was listening to an interview with Sheri Dew tonight and her answer to one question struck a chord in my soul, so much so, that I decided to transcribe it (below):

"If [women] really want to be happy and to feel a sense of peace inside about their lives, that the only way to do that, is to find out what God has in store for them. Where does Heavenly Father want me to be? What does He want me to do?"

"Everyone of us have heartbreaks that we have to deal with or disappointments or things that frankly it doesn't feel like we've gotten an answer yet from the Lord.  We've prayed and prayed and prayed and we don't yet know the answer.  That's a common thing of the human experience: disappointment, loneliness, pain, heartbreak, we're all going to have some degree of it, and the only solution to any of that is "Am I where the Lord wants me to be?  Am I doing what He wants me to do? That's what brings peace. That's what brings confidence."
   - From "Conversations" with Sheri Dew, the Mormon Channel.

The more I experience wonderful joys in this life, the more I also am becoming acquainted with uncertainty and the great sorrow comes to many during their earth life. However, I really love Sheri Dew's direct address to happiness: that it is found by being where the Lords wants me to be and doing what he wants me to do.  We all hope for that, but to have confidence in knowing the Lord' will for oneself, that is a precious thing.  I have a renewed goal.
