The Fourth Year

We are well into Jane's fourth year and she is so proud to be three. She loved having a birthday, especially when she received pink bubblegum...finally. A princess parade, sporting our homemade crowns with Papa playing "Follow the Prophet" on the accordion was a bit hit.

My Mongolian friend, Buyan, was kind of enough to come to the party, all the way from Hawaii.
Raspberries on the cake are a must, of course.
The only picture of Bence from the evening. Obviously he was thrilled to be at a princess party.
Linda and Kiki made the fanciest crowns ever.
The sweetest part of the evening was when we all told Jane what we liked about her. She just beamed and felt so loved by all of her family. As a mother, that was amazingly rewarding to see her so happy.

Apparently, after the event was over, Jane thought that birthday 3 was the only one she would ever have. When she found out that she would have many more birthdays, she has been excitedly anticipating her next many.  I'm pretty sure the birthday was even better than Christmas - she loves being a princess.

Other funny things she has been saying or doing:
While reading the scriptures and discussing repentance, Jane expressed that she understood the principle by telling us that "Dragons and wolves aren't repenting." Dragons and wolves just aren't being very nice these days, it seems.

For several days in a row, Jane decided that she would only answer to "Wee Bear" and I was "Mama Bear" and John, "Dada Bear".  If I called her Jane by mistake, I was quickly corrected.  Even now, if I want her to help clean or go potty or go to sleep, if I address her as "Wee Bear", almost instant compliance is given.
